Berry Crisp

This Mixed Berry Crisp is so easy to whip up and yet so delicious. I love how these frozen berries taste so fresh when baked up, and the topping is PERFECT!

There’s a lot of the berry crisp, and it is oh so tasty. I could seriously eat the topping by itself.

I love to serve it with a scoop of ice cream or fresh whipped cream. But it is still tasty by itself.

Berry Crisp is a definite crowd-pleaser that is a simple summer go-to dessert. But my favorite part about this recipe is that it can be served year-round with the frozen berries.

What’s the difference between a crumble and a crisp?

A crumble is very similar to a crisp. Both are made with fruit, but the main difference is in the topping. A crumble has a streusel crumb topping that is more cake-like. While a crisp traditionally includes oats and is more crispy on top.

Can you freeze fruit crisp?

Yes! It is so convenient to be able to freeze the berry crisp. Simply bake the berry crisp recipe and let it cool completely. Wrap it in a double layer of aluminum foil. You can freeze it for up to 3 months. When you are ready to use it, just place it in the fridge the night before to thaw. Then bake it at 325 degrees until it is heated through, roughly about 20-25 minutes.

What fruits are berries?

The definition of a berry is a small, edible, and pulpy fruit. Usually, they are juicy, bright-colored, round in shape, and do not have a pit, even though they have seeds. The most well-known berries are strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Any of these berries work well in a mixed berry crisp.

How do I bake frozen fruit?

It is super convenient to bake frozen fruit in a berry crisp because the frozen fruit will defrost while it is baking. So, while we all love fresh fruit the best, it is not always practical or easy to use if the fruit is out of season, so baking frozen fruit is a great option.
