Recipe Variations

  • This recipe doubles nicely.
  • This recipe uses medium-sized peaches. If you use larger peaches, add a few minutes to the baking time.
  • Sometimes I like to add chopped pecans to the crumble topping.
  • Instead of serving the peaches with ice cream or whipped cream, you can serve them with vanilla Greek yogurt.

Serving and Storage Tips

SERVE: Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. You can also serve them with caramel sauce.

STORE: You can leave the peaches out for about two hours before they need to be covered and stored in the refrigerator. They can be stored for up to 2 days.

FREEZE: These peaches turn to mush after they’re baked, cooled, frozen, and then thawed. Therefore, I don’t recommend freezing them.

Recipe FAQs

Can you bake peaches with the skin?

Yes, leave the skin on during the baking process. The skin will become tender while baking, adding texture to the recipe. However, you can remove the skins if preferred before baking.

Are baked peaches healthy?

Plain baked peaches are healthy. They provide nutrients such as Vitamin C, potassium, calcium, and fiber. However, adding the oat mixture to the peaches along with the optional ice cream or whipped cream to the baked peaches will make them not so healthy.
