Homemade strawberry syrup can last for about 2-3 weeks when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The sugar in the syrup acts as a preservative, but it won't last indefinitely without additional preservatives. Sealing the syrup in canning jars can help maintain its freshness within this timeframe, but it won't extend its shelf life beyond a month in the fridge.

If you seal them in canning jars will it last longer than a month in the fridge?

I love the taste of this syrup, not overly sweet, just right. I ended up allowing it to simmer a bit longer in order for it to simmer off some of the water to thicken slightly. I will make this again, but maybe add a little less water(?) to get a better consistency. Thank you for the recipe.

Yes, you can use this recipe with other fruit. Use the same amount of sugar, and frozen fruit is ok.
