Ditto on the cannoli chips. Got mushy and wasn't what you imagined it to be. No biggie, tasted great, but will do like others and ADD shells afterward.
Thanks

I 100% agree with this and held back from adding the cannoli shells. They are perfect as a crushed topping. I also waited to add the chocolate chips and pistachios until I had chilled the cream mixture and let it churn in my ice cream maker until almost done. I never add my "mix-ins" until the ice cream is almost done.

I would recommend throwing in the chips and cannoli shells toward the end of the churn. My ice cream maker kept popping off the lid with all the little chips and chunks of shell.

I just made this today. The flavor is fantastic. One step I would change though is to NOT fold in the crushed cone or cannoli shells into the mixture or even the frozen ice cream itself. They really get soggy and rubbery which kind of throws off the texture. Will I still enjoy this batch? Of course! Next time I will crush a cone onto the top of a couple scoops almost like a garnish.
