Hi Farah, I haven’t tried this recipe with pickling vinegar. My initial reaction is that it might alter the flavor too much.

I had forgotten how to make this and was glad to find your explanation. Something I find that helps is to place 1 T vinegar or lemon juice in an empty 1-cup measure, then fill the rest of the way with the milk, to make the measuring more precise. Just thought I’d pass this on. Thank you!
