  1. First, melt the butter and peanut butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
  2. Then, add the Rice Krispies. Stir until combined and the cereal is well coated.
  3. Next, add half of the Rice Krispie mixture to a greased 9″x13″ pan. Layer with 24 REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups, and then top with the remaining Rice Krispie mixture.
  4. Finally, spread the melted chocolate over the treats, and top with REESE’S PIECES. Let sit for an hour, then cut into bars, and serve!

What can you use instead of marshmallows for Rice Krispie Treats?

Marshmallows are the best option in my opinion for this recipe. However, if you really need a substitute you can use 2-3 jars of marshmallow creme.

Do you refrigerate Rice Krispie Treats?

There is no need to refrigerate your Rice Krispies Treats. Just store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for up to 3 days. Although they never last that long in my house!
