The egg whites are tender, and the yolk is cooked to your desired doneness. The steam gently cooks the eggs and permeates the eggshell, which makes the shell so easy to peel.

How Steam Eggs
- First, add water to a medium size pot. The water should come to the bottom of the steamer basket.
- Allow the water to come to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Then, set the eggs in the steamer basket and place the basket in the pot. Cover it with the pot lid.
- Cook the eggs for six to fifteen minutes depending on how well done you would like the eggs to be.
- After cooking the eggs, place them in a large bowl full of ice and water. Let them cool in the ice bath for ten minutes.
- Finally, peel the eggs and serve or store them in an airtight container.

SERVE: The eggs can be eaten immediately after sitting in the ice bath for ten minutes.
STORE: Store the eggs in an airtight container for up to a week in the refrigerator.
FREEZE: I suggest only freezing the yolks if you want to freeze the cooked eggs. The whites become rubbery and inedible once they’re frozen and defrosted. To freeze the yolks, place them in a freezer-safe container and freeze them for 4-5 months.
DEFROST: Defrost the egg yolks in the refrigerator overnight.

Medium-Soft Hard Boiled Eggs: Cook for 6 minutes
Medium Hard Boiled Eggs: Cook for 9 minutes

Well Done Hard Boiled Eggs: Cook for 14 minutes
While both methods produce similar results, steaming eggs create eggs that peel easily without cracking. The whites are tender, and the yolk is creamy every single time.
There is no need to pierce the eggs before steaming.
