Ice Cream Maker. I’ve owned this Cuisinart model for over 8 years now and I love it. It’s simple, straightforward, and a work horse in my kitchen. It’s the #1 best seller on Amazon for a reason! I’m sure it’s not *the* best machine out there, but for under $50 you can’t beat it!

Extra Freezer Bowl. Once you get started making homemade ice cream, it gets addicting. Having an extra freezer bowl comes in handy, trust me. 😉

Instant-Read Thermometer. If make custard-based ice cream (which you totally should), then you’re going to need a quality thermometer. This one is speedy, accurate, and has an automatic shutoff to preserve battery life. In the 4 years I’ve owned it, I haven’t had to replace the battery.

Mesh Strainers. You need a quality strainer when making custard-based ice cream. I love this set. It’s affordable and versatile and I use this set for sifting dry ingredients, too.

Ice Cream Tub. I just picked this one up and it’s life-changing. It fits perfectly in the freezer and it doesn’t take up too much space (it can fit on the freezer door). Its curved sides make scooping a cinch, plus they enable you to easily scoop all that lovely ice cream from the corners without leaving any behind. Awesome, right?! 🙂

Pint Frozen Dessert Containers. When I’m making ice cream to give away I store it in these containers. You can decorate them with craft paper for a festive gift, and they are useable, too–just simply wash them out and dry.

Ice Cream Scoop. This scoop is a rock star! There’s self-defrosting liquid in the handle that activates by your hand warmth to melt rock-hard ice cream as you scoop. Love it, right?!?! (Note: this scoop is NOT dishwasher safe.)

Vanilla Bean Paste. In my opinion simple, quality ingredients makes the best ice cream. I love this paste, the vanilla flavor is phenomenal plus you get luscious little vanilla seeds throughout your ice cream.

Blender. I recently bought this blender and I have to say it’s the best I’ve ever used. The three blades chop, mince, and emulsify ingredients easily. This will come in handy when making smooth purees for fruit-based ice cream.
