The base of these bars is a rich, velvety shortbread cookie layer. It’s even completely awesome on its own.
Shortbread – all-purpose flour – powdered sugar – salted butter Topping – mini marshmallows – Kraft Premium Caramel Bits – heavy cream – cashews

NOTE: To make these bars easier I used Kraft Premium Caramel Bits because they’re unwrapped and ready to go.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium bowl sift together the flour and powdered sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
While still in the bowl, knead the dough until smooth, about 10 times. Pat the dough evenly into your prepared baking pan and prick with a fork 25-30 times.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until light brown in color. Cool for at least 30 minutes on a wire rack.
Combine the caramels and heavy cream in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until the caramels are completely melted. Stir in cashews.
Top the shortbread with the marshmallows and pour the caramel over the top. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until bubbly around the edges.
