Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Whisk flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl; set aside.

With electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium-high speed, beat eggs and sugar until pale yellow and thick, 6 to 10 minutes.

Add pumpkin and mix on low until incorporated. Fold in flour mixture until just combined.

Pour batter into prepared pan and evenly spread. Bake until cake is firm and springs back when touched, about 15 minutes.

As soon as the cake comes out of the oven, run a paring knife around edge of cake to loosen.
