Spread the butter all over the outside of the prime rib. Pour the Worcestershire sauce on top.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Rub the horseradish, chives, and garlic all over the top and sides.
AIR FRY:
Place the prime rib into the air fryer basket or base dish and air fry for about 15 minutes.
Reduce temperature to 315 degrees and continue cooking for another 40-50 minutes, or until the meat registers 130 degrees F (for medium) on an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the roast—***See different cooking temperatures in the notes below.
REST THE PRIME RIB ROAST:
Remove the roast from the air fryer and allow it to rest for 20 minutes.
SERVE:
Slice the prime rib and serve.
Notes
You'll want to cook the prime rib to your desired doneness. Cook to 115 degrees F for rare, 120 degrees F for medium-rare, and 130 degrees F for medium (my preferred doneness).
Make sure you consider how big your air fryer is when you buy your meat.
If you can't find a small enough piece, consider cutting the meat down a little or asking the butcher for a specific cut.
Always allow the meat to rest before slicing it. This will ensure your meat turns out nice & juicy! By allowing it to rest, the juices can saturate the meat. If you cut too soon, you risk it being on the dryer side as you will lose lots of juice as it leaves the meat.
