In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and spices; set aside.

Cream together the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy.

Add the molasses and egg and mix until combined. Mix in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Divide the dough in two, form into disks, and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill the dough.
