Smoked Baked Potatoes

Ingredients

FOR THE POTATOES:

  • 6 large Russet potatoes try to make them uniform in size
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil instead you can use avocado oil, melted butter, or even bacon grease
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt you can use sea salt, garlic salt, or Himalayan pink salt instead
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper you can use ground white pepper for a milder, slightly sweeter flavor

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:

  • Butter
  • Sour cream
  • Chives
  • Bacon
  • Shredded Cheese

Instructions

PREP SMOKER:

  • Preheat your smoker to 225°F. Any wood pellets work well with baked potatoes. Use this as an opportunity to experiment to see which is your favorite.

PREP POTATOES:

  • Wash and dry your baked potatoes.
  • Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and rub all over the skin of the baked potatoes.
  • Season each with salt and pepper.

SMOKE POTATOES:

  • Place the potatoes on the preheated smoker. Close the lid and smoke for 2 -3 hours or until the potatoes pierce easily with a fork.

SERVE:

  • Serve with your favorite toppings.
