Recipe FAQs:

Why is my French toast casserole soggy?

This could be a result of needing to use the correct bread. If you use regular bread, it needs to be thick enough to soak up the custard and will become soggy instead. I use brioche bread, an egg-based, thick, and sturdy bread.

What is difference between challah and brioche?

Both types of bread are similar. However, the main difference is that brioche bread has fewer eggs and more fat than challah bread.

Why does French toast casserole have to sit overnight?

Besides making it a super easy morning after letting the casserole sit overnight, this process also allows time for the bread to soak up the custard mixture before baking.
