Recipes like this simple grilled pork loin roast are perfect for summer afternoons and evenings. In about an hour, you’ll have a juicy cut of meat you can pair with a crisp salad for a filling and satisfying meal!

Pork loin is also known as pork loin roast or center-cut pork, and it’s one of the greatest cuts of meat of all time. Alright, maybe I’m exaggerating, but it is heavenly! The juiciness of it, the lean texture – it’s just a delight.

Thankfully, grilling pork loin is easy, especially if you follow this post. Don’t heat up your kitchen on a hot summer night! Get yourself and the kids, or your best friends, outside for a fantastic pork loin meal instead. It doesn’t take much effort or skill at all, so it’s great even for those who haven’t worked a grill much before.

My family finds pork satisfying, and the moment I serve grilled pork loin, they’re all asking for pork a few times a week! If this happens with your loved ones, don’t worry! I have plenty of other delicious pork recipes. Smoked pork belly burnt ends and easy pork loin roast are just a couple of my favorites.

Here’s everything you need to make this grilled roast pork loin, along with some substitutions.

  • Boneless Pork Loin (3 to 4 pounds, $9.85): This lean cut is ideal for grilling. It cooks evenly, slices beautifully, and soaks up the dry rub flavors while staying juicy inside. Make sure you’re using pork loin (not tenderloin; they’re different cuts).
  • Olive Oil (1 tablespoon, $0.21): Helps the spice mix stick to the pork and creates a seared, flavorful crust on the grill.
  • Smoked Paprika (2 tablespoons, $1.21): The star of the rub. Adds smoky depth that mimics low-and-slow BBQ flavor without the wait.
  • Garlic Powder (1 teaspoon, $0.10): Lends a sharp, savory kick.
  • Salt (1 teaspoon): Enhances the natural flavor of the pork and helps form a crisp crust.
  • Black Pepper (1 teaspoon, $0.26): Adds warmth and balance.
  • Onion Powder (Β½ teaspoon, $0.06): Rounds out the savory flavor.
  • Cayenne Pepper (Β½ teaspoon, $0.09): Adds a subtle, lingering heat. Use more or less depending on your spice preference.

NOTE: The recipe prices are calculated by using grocery store websites. The recipe cost is calculated by the amounts needed for the recipe. The actual cost of the recipe will vary depending on what ingredients you already have.

Essential Recipe Tips

Use a meat thermometer: This is the best way to prevent overcooking. Pull the pork to an internal temperature of 145Β°F for a juicy center.

Let it rest: That 10-minute rest is non-negotiable. It allows the juices to redistribute, preventing moisture loss when slicing.

Turn occasionally: Rotate the pork every 10 to 15 minutes to get a nice sear on all sides without burning.

Grilled Roast Pork Loin Recipe FAQs

How long does it take to make pork loin on the grill?

This recipe takes just 15 minutes to prep and about 45 minutes to cook the pork loin. Remember, however, that you want to go by the temperature of the meat on the inside, not the time it has been cooked. Use a meat thermometer at the thickest part of the pork loin! You’re looking for 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

How many servings does this recipe produce?

This should make enough for six servings/people.

Is there a difference between pork loin and pork tenderloin?

Yes! They’re different cuts of meat. A tenderloin is generally a 1-pound boneless cut from near the animal’s backbone, and it’s long and narrow. On the other hand, a pork loin is wide and flat, and usually weighs 2-4 pounds. It may still have the bone in or be boneless like a tenderloin. They aren’t cooked the same, so don’t confuse them!

Should I eat this with sauce?

It’s up to your tastes! It’s amazingly juicy and perfect without sauce, but BBQ on the side is also fantastic. This homemade Texas BBQ Sauce is one of my favorites!

Do I need to wrap the pork loin in foil when I grill it?

There’s no need. While some cuts of meat need this to prevent them from drying out, pork loin tends to be so juicy that it stays that way after grilling. Plus, I like those char marks you get when it comes off the grill!
