Watermelon Pizza
Today, I’m in the kitchen with my daughter, Mia. We’re making some fabulous kid-friendly food. I love having Mia make things that boost her confidence in the kitchen. This recipe does just that! Mia and I bring you our watermelon pizza recipe, one of our many favorite fruit pizzas!
The makings of this watermelon pizza all started at the grocery store. Mia picked out her ingredients: watermelon, mango, kiwi, blueberries, banana chips, and unsweetened coconut flakes. When we got home, I was under strict directions on how to cut the fruit. Basically, I was her sous chef.
After I sliced and diced the fruit, it was time to assemble our watermelon pizza! I loved watching Mia make her pizza. She took pride in the food she was making. She was so proud of herself. This recipe gave her a boost in her kitchen confidence!

As I said, watermelon pizza makes a great snack, but it can also be a fun part of a whole meal! Serve it as a side with smoked burgers or grilled BBQ chicken, and you have a whole summertime feast.

How To Make Watermelon Pizza
This is one of those recipes that barely needs any instructions at all!
- Cut the watermelon into 2-inch-thick slabs.
- Place a slab of watermelon on your work surface.
- Top with the kiwi, mango, blueberries, and banana chips, and sprinkle the shredded coconut over the fruit.
- Slice and serve!

Recipe Variations
Don’t like the toppings we chose for our pizza? No problem! The beauty of this dish is that you can use your favorite fruit as the toppings. Try…
- More berries: raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc.
- Cherries, sliced and with the pits removed.
- Other melons: honeydew, cantaloupe, etc.
- Other sliced fruit: pineapple, peaches, grapes, oranges, bananas, mango.
- Other fruit chips, like apple.
- Nuts, like cashews, sliced almonds, or peanuts.
- “Snack-y” additions, like chocolate chips, if you don’t mind giving them to your little ones.
- Yogurt spread over the watermelon as “sauce” (regular, Greek, or any of your favorites!).
- Cream cheese frosting as the “sauce” for a slightly sugary addition.
- Honey or maple syrup drizzled over the top of the finished pizza.
- Caramel or chocolate drizzled on top for a sweet twist.
Overall, I recommend using any fruit that’s in season where you are or, even better, fruit that’s local. That way, you get a really flavorful pizza!

Recipe FAQs
It’s important to use a seedless watermelon for the recipe. If you use a seeded one, they will be hidden beneath the “toppings”. This will make them harder for little ones to find while eating the watermelon pizza.
This is a short, sweet, and simple recipe of only 10 minutes.
